Hey June

Well, here we go. It is already the last month of the school year. Many of you are excited that Final exams are approaching while others of you are simply dreading the thought of a summer with no school.

"What about youth?" You ask? Oh, things are far from done. ...well maybe not that far, but we have a three weekends yet.

Would you like to be baptized?
We are having a baptism service on June 17, let Byron know right away if you are interested!
If you are unsure of what baptism is or why we do it, you should really give me a call 775-1616 or email me at byron@westhillchurch.com.

30 HOUR FAMINE UPDATE!!! (Keep reading to see what's changed!)

Well, here we are in May. I hope you are all having a great time and I am looking forward to warmer weather and 30 Hour Famine! What else going on?

April 13 & 14 No youth events, enjoy the break with your family!

April 15 11:00 - 12:15 youth@eleven is back with a vengance! A positive and uplifting vengance that is.

April 20-21 7:00pm Friday to 6:30 pm Saturday.

30 Hour Famine!!!

Get your famine forms from Byron. We are fundraising to feed families in developing countries and going without food for 30 hours to feel how it is to be hungry all the time. This is a joint event we are doing with Rosewood Alliance church.

Team Goal:

Raise more than $5,245 (what we raised last year) and Byron will dye his hair any colour.

BIG GOAL (NEW):

Raise over $9,000 and Byron will SHAVE HIS HEAD BALD!!!
(Byron hopes you raise $8,900)

Individual prizes:

Raise $90 (feed a family for 3 months), get a bracelet.
Raise $180 (feed a family for six months), get a hat and bracelet.
Raise $360 (feed a family for a year), get a sweet bag, hat and bracelet.

Top Fundraisers from both Westhill and Rosewood each get an

Orange iPod shuffle

engraved with "30 Hour Famine - Top Fundraiser".

- March 16 The Big Gig. Missions Encounter Service at Westhill 7:00.

Bible Studies
- Sr. High Monday nights 7:00 to 9:00 at Josephson's 6174 Wellband Dr.
- No Sr. High Bible Study March 5 because of school holiday.
- Jr. High Tuesday nights 6:30 to 7:30 in the Youth Lounge.

Youth Group
- Friday March 2, Sr. High 7-10 in Youth Lounge $2.
- Saturday March 3, Jr. High 7-10 in Youth Lounge $2.

- Friday March 9, Jr. & Sr. 7-10 combined event City Wide Praise at Western Christian College corner of 4th Ave and Lewvan.

- Friday March 16, Jr. & Sr. 7-10 combined event Missions Encounter Service featuring the yet to be named youth band and a youth event featuring Ryan Sato (the Youth Pope) to follow.

- Saturday March 24, Jr. & Sr. combined ski/snobored trip to Mission Ridge. Meet at the church at 8:00 am arrive back at 5:30 pm. You need to fill out a few forms to come. Information is available at the church.

- Friday March 30, Sr. High 7-10 in Youth Lounge $2.
- Saturday March 31, Jr. High 7-10 in Youth Lounge $2.

So far this blog has been what most bloggers hate more than anything. In other words it has been cerebral flatulance and nothing more. So maybe it should take on a purpose. Please comment on what you would like to see in this blog.

The Second One!!!!!!

Well, it took me a couple weeks to figure out my username and password, but I am back with a vengance!!
Big News! Things are changing, including Sr High Bible Study which will now be held at the Josephsons 'March through the arch where the band plays well' at 6174 Wellband Drive. Don't worry though folks, because Dono will still be writing the studies.
